The Eye: Mirror to the Brain

New studies are showing that Alzheimer’s disease could very well be diagnosed as simple as looking into the eye.

Mice studies have found that those with Alzheimer`s disease also have loss of thickness in a layer in the eye cells.

”As the retina is a direct extension of the brain, they say the loss of retinal neurons could be related to the loss of brain cells in Alzheimer’s.” (BBC News)

Imagine that one day, opticians just may be able to diagnose this disease.

Does that mean that new treatment can be found as we prediagnose Alzheimer`s disease?

Further studies is required on this topic, but keep in consideration when looking at yourself in the mirror!
