Protein Protein Protein Shake or NOT!

I am going crazy!

I have been researching on and on about Protein powder, is it good? is it bad?

Good Question? Well… it’s just not a good answer.

I have been training quite a lot lately and find I need more protein, for recovery, for energy, for feeling great-ER!

Protein Supplements, some sources disapprove it, and others say it’s okay. Which is the correct one? I still don’t know.

Here are some sources, and you can be your own judge:

However, my safest and healthiest matter I found was by following a natural Protein option, that is by foods, such as:

Great Grains: Oats, Spelt, Quinoa, Amaranth, Wheat germ

Protein-Packed Fruits and Snacks: Dried apricot, Sun dried tomatoes, Edamame, Pumpkin and squash seeds, Chia seeds, Walnuts, Almonds and almond butter, Pistachios

Satisfying Seafood: Ocean trout, Salted cod, Sockeye salmon

Meat (and Tofu) Alternatives: Seitan, Tempeh

See http://www.doctoroz.com/videos/20-surprisingly-good-sources-vegetarian-protein for details.

So after continuous research, I am still undecided if Protein Powders are a healthy choice, but I will keep you updated if I find the answer.

As for now, my only advise is try to get your protein as naturally as possible.

Keep in mind, Fish oil is high protein intake.

2. Have honey prior to a workout for endurance, speed and power
3. Drink Pea protein powder to delay fatigue during a workout
4. Blueberries are an anti-inflammation antioxidant for best recovery
5. Tart cherries fight pain and recuperate the body strength

SLEEP MORE: LIVE LONGER!

If you don’t want to listen to your parents, listen to your doctors!

Lack of sleep is unhealthy for your body and your brain.

As doctor Lee describes, sleep deprivation can cause drastic long-term effects such as cardiovascular disease, increase risk of car accidents, work performance errors, cognitive abilities, more fatigue during the day, and obesity.

Dr. Jean-Philippe Chaput, an obesity specialist at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario, said there is a strong link between sleep and body weight. According to him, comparing to people who sleep more, those who sleep less tend to eat more and be less active.

Chaput said:

adults are encouraged to sleep between seven to eight hours a night, while children are encouraged to sleep for 10 hours in order to get a full rest.

Please also make sure to take the poll and see how many actually do/don’t sleep enough. You will notice that more than half of us do not sleep enough.

Eggs: Handle with Care

Eggs provide great nutrients, that’s assuring they are not poisonous.

Eggs can sometimes be contaminated with a bacteria called Salmonella, or other. It is important therefore to be wary of the eggs we are picking up and how to properly handle them.

Here are some of the useful  tips:

– Choose refrigerated eggs with clean a and uncracked shells.
– Pick up the eggs at the end of your shopping trip to keep them cold.
– Make sure eggs are graded Canada A with the maple leaf symbol.
– Alwsys keep your eggs cold
– Dont crack the shell until ready to use
– Eggs should never be kept in room temperature for more than two hours.
– Wash thoroughly with warm water and soap all materials used for handling raw eggs

Did you know?
Cookie dough and cake batters made with raw eggs could contain Salmonella and should not be eaten until they are cooked thoroughly.

Be Careful!

E-Cigarettes: No Better Than Cigarettes

Many believe E-Cigarettes are an alternative to safe/healthy smoking. Wrong! Check out this article showing how detrimental these electronic cigarettes can be.

AcroMax shows how these cigarettes are being exposed to children and in turn harming their bodies. This alternative exposes people to so much nicotine contrary to what is believed.

In fact the concentrated and flavored cartridges inside these E-Cigarettes contain enough nicotine to equal about two packs of cigarettes.

Children are exposed to this through not only swallowing but also through exposure to the skin and accidental spilling of the liquid which is very easy.

This all to say that the *alternative* to cigarettes that was believed to be is false and even more problematic. This is all poison and we must be careful.

For more detailed information please see the link below:

http://m.arcamax.com/health/healthtips/s-1468350

Please dont be ignorant to the signs and precautions out there. Don’t wait until it’s too late!

This is not to say that you should go back to smoking cigarettes, not the intention. But be aware of the poison you are in taking when alternating to these electronic cigarettes.

Better Diet For Better Health: Asthma Treatment

Suffering with Asthma is a constant struggle, but studies today are finding possible solutions.

“In recent decades, there has been a well-documented increase in the incidence of allergic asthma in developed countries and coincident with this increase have been changes in diet, including reduced consumption of fibre.”

Studies done on mice show that high fibre foods might be a solution for Asthma. These studies showed that High-fibre diet causes mice to be less vulnerable to asthma, producing more short-chain fatty acids which is a type of fat absorbed into the blood, acting as a signal to the immune system and resulting in the lungs being more resistant to irritation; i.e. lower cause of Asthma.

Processed Meats: Rather Eat Poison!

proc·ess1
/ˈpräˌses,ˈpräsəs,ˈprō-/

Verb
”perform a series of mechanical or chemical operations on (something) in order to change or preserve it” *Google definition*

Does this sound like something you want to put into your body? Sorry for my language, but Hell No!

Sadly, in this day of age, almost all food is processed and that is why people are dying early and living with far more diseases than ever before. There are processed meats among many, such as bacon, sausage, hot dogs, sandwich meat, packaged ham, pepperoni, salami and all red meat used in frozen prepackaged meals. All these have sodium nitrite and monosodium glutamate (MSG) inside them which is a major cause of cancer these days and we don`t even take it seriously.

Ofcourse, it is more expensive and more work to watch what your eating, but it is VERY IMPORTANT! You don`t want to wake up in 10 years saying I wish I focused more on my health! Trust me.

If you dont belive me, see what the experts are saying:

”The World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF) has just completed a detailed review of more than 7,000 clinical studies covering links between diet and cancer. Its conclusion is rocking the health world with startling bluntness: Processed meats are too dangerous for human consumption. Consumers should stop buying and eating all processed meat products for the rest of their lives.”

I will not repeat everything written in the article because I will be plagiarising every word because I don`t want you to miss out on anything as it is all important and should be taken to the ultimate priority list.

And Remember: The Secret to Being Healthy is Staying Healthy.

Take A Second & Pay Attention!

When you go to the washroom, you have seen your stool and it has had many forms and colors. Right?

Sadly but true, this is a very important factor that determines how healthy or unhealthy you are. It is important that you pay attention to these things, as the color and form of your stool may be the first clue to some diseases and health issues.

This may seem disgusting for some of you, but pay attention to this chart and see where your stool stands:

stool-chart

Now after you have determined where you stand… Lets take a look at how healthy you are.
“Ideally, your stool should approximate Types 3, 4 and 5, “like a sausage or a snake, smooth and soft” to “soft blobs that pass easily.” Type 4 is the Holy Grail.”

Otherwise, you should start watching what you eat, or go see a doctor because you might be in danger.

This should not be taken lightly, this is very serious.
